I've been playing it alot in the past few days. Although the waiting line sucks, once you get in, it's a sweet breeze of nostalgia....and blood. I used to play quake 3 quite a bit, and it's about time I got my rail gun skills back.

I still think Quake I and II were the best of the series.

However this browser game version has piqued more than my curiosity!

Damn, if only there was someway to play ZDoom multiplayer online for free.

Haha I'll have to check this out later. When I hear Quake3 though I think of Jedi Academy since it used the Quake3 engine. Haha

I was in the closed beta a couple of months back, I refrained from writing anything about it due to the NDA. You can also launch the game full-screen from within your browser so it doesn't even feel like you're playing a 'browser-based game'. The no-mac thing is kind of ridiculous, making the game browser-based seems like it should circumvent those kinds of issues... especially since Quake 3 Arena was on mac anyway.

Its a pretty cool idea, I'm interested to see how the margin between maintaining the servers and bringing in ad revenue balances out.

This has me excited to try out the Battlefield: Heroes game that is in the works too.

wow. That is pretty damn awesome. I played Q3 a little back in the day. I never got great at it. I was just sort of a rocket launcher noob. Some people were ridiculous with the rail gun.
