Y: The Last Man is a really good one. I borrowed them from Louie B. It's about some sort of virus that kills all the men on the planet, except for one. I'm surprised the main character didn't get laid any more than he did, but that's besides the point. It's an awesome story, and it kept me wanting more, chapter after chapter. It's by the same dude who did Pride, so you would probably really enjoy it Stillies.

Walking Dead is also really great, but I'm not sure that qualifies because it's not over yet. It's the best zombie comic I've ever read. Go buy it now.

I don't own many actual graphic novels / trade paperbacks, but I do own three which I do enjoy.

I've always been a fan of the Alien's franchise. I actually wish I would have picked up the omnibus vol. 2 for all the Colonial Marines stuff

Tank Girl comics are always awesome, this one in particular is probably the worst (and I still think is the newest) in the franchise. I love the mis-mash of art styles, but the stories seem a little weaker, and of course the absence of Jamie Hewlett is always sad.

Everyone knows who Alan Moore is, but this is another one of his comic franchises that is pretty sweet. The premise of the comic is that everyone in the world has super powers, and there is a group of police that have to keep everyone in line.

That would be another AMAZING Alan Moore piece that everyone should pick up... including myself since I've only ever borrowed my friends to read haha.

Might as well also just come out and say V for Vendetta.

I don't own very many, but I would have to go with Batman The Dark Knight Returns.

The Dark Knight Returns is really the only one I ever read.

Would the Death of Superman count?

I've seen it in trade paperback form, so I would say definitely it does.
