so my friend works at DC comics, and she gave me a big old bag of graphic novels a little while back when watchmen was in the theaters. in this bag was book 1 of alan moore's run on swamp thing. the first chapter wasn't so great, but it was tying up some loose ends of a previous story arc. however, the second book really took an interesting turn. i cant say i know much about swamp thing at all, but the way moore described WHAT the swamp thing was was really cool. i wasn't expecting it to turn that way.

needless to say, my interest is piqued.

according to the foreword, it apparently began as a comic book back in the early 70s, and kind of was forgotten about until wes craven (?) made it into a movie.

Swamp Thing is in the Vertigo imprint of DC. I have never read an issue of it but I heard its a great run.
