I won't, don't worry. I heard from one of my teachers who read them, that the ending wasn't very good....which is pretty sad. Maybe it will be better because I expect it to be bad now.

at first i didn't really like it....but read it ALL the way through, then it will make sense.

you may have to think about it like i did.

The spoiler posts I posted earlier, when you called me out on my facts... Your probably right, its been quite a while since I've read the last one, and even longer since I've read book 4. I was actually debating giving them a re-read this summer.

yea it is hard to remember every little detail in this series, a lot of things happened...especially when it has been awhile.

There is a slight twist, however; the memory of reaching the Tower quickly fades, yet Roland now possesses the Horn of Eld that he had foolishly lost long ago during the battle of Jericho Hill. This subtle but significant change from the previous timeline further enforces the implication that this cycle of Roland's journey will present him the opportunity to make different decisions and possibly break the cycle and find salvation.

Thats what I was talking about and remembered.

yea he loses the horn during the battle of jericho when he was younger and i guess his timeline changes each time he loops back (and learns something from his previous journey), although he still only begins in the desert each time....i think.

Damn! so confusing...

My biggest disappointment wasn't with the ending it was with how he killed off The man in black, it seemed like he was like oh crap I have to kill him off.

I agree with that completely. Also I'm still kind of wish that it was Roland whoFinished the Crimson King since he's the hero and the King in the antagonist. but the way from the book was ok.

"The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed."

I fucking love that opening line.

Finished the series today! I'm not sure what to think of the end yet. Can't say I was disappointed with how it closed, although it was unexpected, but I was a little disappointed about the Crimson King fight. I expected Roland to have some epic battle with him....not for him to be...erased.

yea....a lot of things happened that were unexpected.

Like when Mordred killed Walter, i had the idea in my head that he and Roland would have a showdown.
overall, it was a great story though.

I was sad too when Oy died, but if you read the author's note, King hints at Oy being in New York with Jake, Eddie, and Susannah.
My heart was pumping when he was fighting the Crimson King, he may not have finished him off but he was doing some pretty awesome shit with his gun in the battle.

when I was at Borders the other day, I saw a hardcover edition of the long road home comics. It was $25 and 25% off. Very tempting.

I need to finish reading The Stand. I got half way through it and just stopped reading it... I'll have to start over again though because I can't really remember what the hell happened.

They have the Long Road Home in a collective hardcover edition? I got the one for Gunslinger Born and I've been waiting for this one. Awesome.
