I really like the traditional style of animation, especially how they animated megaman and Sonic. I'm also a huge fan of the gorillaz music videos, since they use a pen and paper and color with boom toons, I love the end result, nothing like toiling away and being frustrated with a light box for days, but when you see how great the result is, worth it!

edit: who wants to fix my embed :D

Replace the ?'s with &'s. You should know by now.

well i can tell yo that was probably pretty expensive to make, but i agree that i enjoy a well crafted drawn piece over a CGI one. i also dont know what "boom toon" is. maybe you mean "toon boom"?

Hahaha yeah toon boom. I wonder how ghost in the shell is animated? I know they use some cgi, but the characters themselves look like average fbf.

GiTS was done traditionally on paper. that was well before an all digital prodction pipeline was common place. if i remember correctly, that had a small amount of CGI peppered throughout.

akira had zero CGI and was entriey drawn by hand. there were alot of elements in the BG that are handdrawn that add a nice bit of dimensionality to it. princess and the frog was done entriely on paper as well. its still happening just not as prevelant as it once was.

I meant the TV series for GITS, the buildings and cars and such look pretty CGI.

I'm going to intern for a week at a studio that does mostly classic stuff. I've always wondered why some animation companies get to charge so much for like, a small advertisement.

Yeah i liked the traditional style of animation but today's animation is more about 2D 3D.....But i guess earlier people work really hard on anime which is difficult to find in today's anime artist
