Cool. Thanks for sharing.

How long have you been going to school, and where are you going if you don't mind me asking.

Awesome. Well good luck with it! If you ever want any pointers on your work, we have a bunch of people on the boards in the art/design field so we could maybe lend a hand.

very cool. i would suggest trying to incorporate the text into the design work more as opposed to just using the defualt text tool. for example, rasterize the text and start to distort it, change it and recolor it to make it apart of what your trying to say.

i can suggest you taking a look at michele gagne's work. here's a link to his site, but it seems like its down as of this posting?

http://www.gagneint.com/

i love his stuff. really great.

keep up the good work!

concentrate on dev, you will make double the money as an application developer then as a designer.

You still need designers though. I've got co workers that wrote apps for the Iphone but it looks like shit because they have no design skills. And if it's just you, it's pretty expensive to contract someone to do the work for you when you don't even know if you're going to be making any money on the app to begin with. I still need to get my hand on a Mac. I have an idea for an app that I really want to put together. I know I can do it. I just need the materials.

I think you develop iPhone apps with the new version of Flash if I'm not mistaken.

well in web companies application developers is just the name for anyone building pages. steve is an application developer. people who know code make the big money. just like i make a ridiculous amount more doing video operations then i did as an editor. creative will never make as much as ops/dev. its a fact.

I don't think Apple allows those apps to actually be published to the app store. I remember reading that when CS5 came out, but I could be wrong.

But it's likely to be less fun. Hence http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4Wy7gRGgeA

Eh, not to be Debbie Downer, but it doesn't matter what you do, it's not fun when you're doing it for some corporate company. I'm a designer and I don't get to design anything. And when I do get to design something it gets changed by 5 people and I have rules of what I can do going into the project. Been like that my entire professional career thus far.

Why do you think I made this place? hahaha.

Some people are lucky though and truly enjoy their jobs.

So I should have done code. I need some buckeroos.

yeah. i enjoyed the hell out of editing and i still do. but thats what freelance and hobby time is for. no matter what you are doing someone elses bidding unless you are full time freelance..which can be an even bigger nightmare.

I wear many hats at work. But i probably hate application development the most. When I'm in app dev mode, I truly hate computers. I get so sick of spending all day staring at a computer screen all day that I don't even want to turn my PC on at home, even to look at the smorg. Plus the money is all based on where you work. Teachers in the area make more than I do.

No matter what job you have there's a reason to hate it.
