Since EliteXC and now Affliction both folded, might as well make a Strikeforce thread since Fedor is there now. They're trying to step up there game by putting a lot of titles on the line in one card this Saturday.

The undercard for the event has been riddled with many unexpected interruptions and changes:

Joe Riggs pulled out of his bout with Nick Diaz on July 23, 2009 due to suffering an adverse reaction to a drug. Diaz was then slated to face Jay Hieron for the Welterweight Championship belt. However, Diaz missed a pre-fight drug test mandated by the California State Athletic Commission and was denied a license to compete. Diaz has now been replaced with former Ultimate Fighter contestant Jesse Taylor and the fight is now a non-title bout.

Renato Sobral was to face off against Gegard Mousasi at Affliction: Trilogy on August 1, 2009, but the match was scrapped following the cancellation of the event. The match was rescheduled after both fighters signed contracts with Strikeforce. The match will be for the Light Heavyweight Championship belt.

Josh Thomson will be unable to defend his title due to a lingering injury. Mitsuhiro Ishida will face Gilbert Melendez for the Interim title.

Alistair Overeem was rumoured to defend his Heavyweight championship belt against Brett Rogers, but it was announced that he would defend the belt against Fabricio Werdum instead. Ultimately Overeem had to pull out of the bout due to lingering issues with a hand injury. Werdum will remain on the card and face off against Mike Kyle.

A previously announced bout featuring Erin Toughill has been called off. She is the reserve fighter in case either Gina or Cris are unable to fight.

A previously reported bout featuring Roger Gracie will not take place as Gracie has backed out of the match.

Nick Diaz failed to show up for a drug test 2 days in a row so he is not allowed to fight. And they replaced him with former Ultimate Fighter contestant Jesse Taylor. The fight will not be for the title any longer.

The funny thing is that according to polls there are more people planning on watching the free rerun of UFC:100 than this Strikeforce business. A poll I saw was like 80% to 20%.

I used to be a fan of Fedor and wanted to see him keep winning so he could come to the UFC and heralded as some unstoppable dude. But he's basically NEVER going to be in the UFC because his management is a bunch of assholes so I hope Rogers knocks his face off tomorrow night.

I'm looking at Fedor's fight history and he beat former WCW wrestler Yuji Nagata. I didn't even know he was in MMA.

Yeah Fedor has one loss and it was a fucking stupid loss. The ref stopped it cause he had a cut and everyone hates that that happened. Also I just watched a Sports Science video where they measured the strength of Fedor's rear naked choke, it was 500 pounds of pressure.

boy that was a fun fight to watch. Fedor sure throws some wild haymakers though. Rogers just wasn't fast enough.
I only caught the last 2 rounds of the mayhem fight and would say he lost those 2 rounds... but sheilds wasn't doing too much to hurt him, just kinda held on.
