I doubt the Pens offense even shows up tonight, especially with Neal out. Should be an easy sweep. Only thing to watch out for is cheap shots and intent to injure.

If Torres only gets 3 games (which people appear to be expecting) that's bullshit. Hagelin got 3 for his hit on Alfie and the only reason he didn't get more was that he has never been fined/suspended before. Torres did 3 dirty things (head hunt, left his feet, nowhere near the puck) and he is a repeat repeat repeat offender. If they do not make an example on him it just proves this whole system is a joke and will remain that way until someone dies or is paralyzed.

i was watching an old rangers game vs detroit the other day during lunch. MSG channel up here plays that shit every now and again so i kept it on while i ate my sand which. it was probably around the late 80's or early 90's judging from the graphic overlays for the score and shit. it was weird how slow the game looked. there was so much hooking and holding going on that every player on the ice would've been in the box if that same game was played today. i mean, a hooking call used to be if you actually, you know, HOOKED the guy with your stick. now, if your blade touches the other guy's arm its a hook.

the other thing that was funny was the the goalies looked like kids in net. their pads are like half of what they have now.

the game has become faster in recent years, because that's what the league wanted. so now these guys are hitting each other going like three times as fast as they used to and people's brains are turning to mush.

even back in 2004 it was weird. I was watching Flyers vs Tampa 2004 eastern conference finals and every other play would of been a penalty.

It's funny eh? It seems like their attempt to make the sport safer has made it more dangerous.

Also those elbow pads are ridiculous. There is absolutely no reason for those pads to be the way they are, with the pointed elbow part that is solid as fuck.

They would be fine wearing something like this:

well what the fuck do I know?

This could be the worst combined goaltending of any series I've ever seen.

Is the offense even that great or are the goalies just playing that fucking horribly?

i think its a little bit of both. But also no team is playing great D. After about 7 goals flyers just gave up. I think they said giroux took 3 shifts in the third.

it was tough to watch. bryz really was a clunker, but bob was no better. that's what's going to kill us yet again as a contender: weak goal tending between our pipes.

12 minutes into practice Bryz left the ice and was replaced by leighton. Shit just got real.

All day on talk radio they were talking like Bryz foot might be bothering him again. This is not good.

Flyers, sens, panthers and caps all leading their series is the best possible outcome. Now lets hope flyers and caps end it today.

I'm pretty excited. However I'm still in my exam period so I really have not been able to watch the games.

I just watched that hit that Neil laid on Boyle. Tortorella is so ridiculous. He basically said it was identical to the Torres hit and that Neil is a repeat offender, both of which are false. Chris Neil may fight a lot but I don't think he has had a dirty hit in years (a newspaper says his last fine was in 2003). Also Hossa's head was up, the puck was nowhere near him and Torres left his feet, clearly targeting the head. For the Neil hit Boyle had just released the puck, Neil did not leave his feet, and from what I could tell he was targeting the body and Boyle lowered his head right before impact.

Tortorella is just trying to be heard by the refs, he's a loud mouth, nothing more nothing less. The hit on Hossa and Boyle aren't even in the same discussion.

I can't believe how long they're dragging the first round on. Seriously, NY? Game 6 Monday, Game 7 on Thursday? Lets go already.

1-3 in the west

East is looking good. Could be 4-0 if the Panthers come back in the 3rd.

I knew the kings were better than that 8th seed, but I really thought St. Louis was the best team in the league this year. I'm shocked at that sweep.

It seemed like they completely figured out Brian Elliott.

Yeah it blows my mind that LA swept St Louis and NJ beat Philly in 5. Philly looked so good after round 1 and NJ just looked okay.
