Happy Easter everyone! Guess what? The Lord wasn’t the only one that rose from the grave today, as the Shamoozal Radio Podcast has joined him.
I know it’s hard to believe, but Frank, Sithlord, Joe and I got together this weekend and cranked out the latest episode, the first one in nearly an entire year. Steve or John unfortunately couldn’t make it during the busy weekend.
Since it’s been so long I thought it would be best if this was more of an off the cuff episode. I went in there with no notes and zero intention of doing our regular segments. Instead I thought it would be a good idea just to do an episode about catching up, so if you want to hear lots of crying and behind the scenes stuff about Shamoozal and us in general, then this is the episode for you.
Joe however did have a game for us to play. Since he’s on a health kick, we played a round of P90S (a pun on the famous P90X). So we do have one regular segment for you guys to enjoy. Anyway, I hope you like this episode. It’s a bit lower key than the normal circus that SRP usually is, so I hope that’s okay.
I had a bunch of text written for this and somehow I ended up erasing it before posting it! I don’t really get what I did there, but I did it. Anyway, it’s been a long while since we had a podcast. The gang got together last weekend and we put together this episode which features our yearly Summer Movie Preview (in which we sort of hate on most of the choices this year), play a game about surviving what was supposed to be a post apocalyptic world, and in our Final Thoughts hit topics like the death of Macho Man Randy Savage, LA Noire, and the cancellation of such great shows like The Event.
My pals over at Elder-Geek.com are doing a 48 hour gaming marathon, the Full Hearts Marathon to be exact, this weekend to raise money for Japan. Starting at around 5pm EST their team will be switching off playing a slew of Japan made titles for the following 48 hours. It’s a pretty beastly marathon if I do say so myself.
Speaking of myself, I’ll be taking part in the marathon as well! Though my time is limited, I’m locked in for a 2 hour session Friday night starting at 10pm EST and I’ll be bringing along a bunch of Sega Genesis classics like Streets of Rage 3, World of Illusion, and Contra: Hard Corps (and perhaps others). It’ll be like a combination of the NES Hour (for those that remember it) and our NES Marathons in a two hour time span. I plan on having a blast during that time, so buckle up.
This has all happened kind of quickly, and I haven’t spoken to anyone about it yet, but hopefully you’ll also see the likes of the podcast crew around. I highly suspect I’ll be able to get Sithlord involved. I decided to choose games that can all be played with two players so I’m counting on someone to be there with me. If not, I guess I’ll hand my dog a controller and see what happens there, or maybe I can convince my wife to take part with me. I’m also really sweating getting my new video card in on time and having everything up and running perfectly. It’s been a while since I’ve done something like this, so I have a bit of planning ahead of me.
We’re back in our first podcast for the year. Joe was busy with family stuff so we ended up recording the podcast on a single mic in my basement. The audio we recorded there was also lost, so what we have here is ripped from what was broadcast over our Livestream channel. So, it’s kind of like a bad version of a bad version. Watch your ears. As a result, I opted to not include a snippet for our YT page this month, I was going to, but when we get loud, it’s a bit rough. Sorry about that folks.
I was going to edit out a terribly embarrassing moment where I had to leave the podcast to uhhh take care of business, but I decided to leave it in. I don’t give a shit, the people that listen to this practically expect that sort of stuff out of me anyway, so what do I care? Anyway, lots of show notes and ways to download the podcast are after this here paragraph. Yup! Also, thanks to Steve for turning this around for us, he didn’t have much to work with, but at least it was somewhat salvageable.
Just in time for Christmas it’s our annual Holiday Podcast! After a Zobek filled introduction, the crew talks about their favorite Christmas moments to get into the holiday spirit. Though there are probably more stories about my Dad than actual Christmas memories, sorry about that folks. Afterward we move onto our Shocker News segment with such amazing stories about a dude that made a pot Christmas tree, an Xbox thief, and a guy that got caught choking the chicken in the WalMart toy isle. We hit a bit of Shamoozal news and talk about the delay of the new Nerdlog, and the future of the shorts. Finally, a bunch of final thoughts from the crew, mostly Christmas related.
Also, big thanks to Joe on getting this done before Christmas. In addition to his recording, he works full time, goes to school part time, and is also a Dad, so he’s really busy these days. With that, enjoy the show.
After an whole summer hiatus Shamoozal Radio is back! The episode begins with a batch of Shocker News including the UN’s new Alien Ambassador, and a Father and Son’s awful scheme to make big bucks in prison. Joe brings us a new game called Baby Bites where we need to guess the words that Joe’s baby girl is saying. That brings us to Shamoozal news which offers a few hints into ROM Vol. 2 and leads us into a bit about Out Sourcing material. Finally we end with a batch of final thoughts ranging from inconsiderate people to SOS Wheeljack. All this and more in Shamoozal Radio Podcast #34! Be sure to drop in on the forums to discuss this episode!
Should have had this up over the weekend but I was super busy! Anyway, our fourth Anniversary starts out with a bit of an SRP shake up. The Shamoozal News segment gets pushed behind our regular news updates, and the Whore Daddy/Clutch turns into an ending thoughts of sorts. We hit up topics like the Star Wars Kid turning into a lawyer, drunk birds, and kidnapped kids found through Facebook. Sithlord brings with him a new Trivia game based around Lost called “Now You’re Like Me.” Lost spoilers are a plenty, so listen if you dare. Finally some Shamoozal news where we talk a bit about the ROM shorts and Sith gives us some insight into the show he appeared on recently called Wa$ted.
Somehow we managed to talk about The Human Centipede yet AGAIN. That isn’t really what the show is about though, it’s time for our annual Summer Movie preview! We go through a quick list of planned hits and offer our thoughts. For once we actually have some Shamoozal news and go a bit into the new Read Only Memory shorts. Plus, Nintendo Vs Apple? Craigslist is evil? Are Jim’s game punishments just too much for their own good? Find out in Shamoozal Radio Podcast #32!
