My DVD/Blu-Ray Pick
TRON

TRON: Legacy – I saw the original TRON for the first time within the last year and I was not impressed. I know it was some seriously amazing stuff for its time, but it definitely did not hold up well over the almost 30 years since the initial release. But fortunately for myself, I love Jeff Bridges so I still wanted to see the sequel. It was a pretty wild movie. Again, some seriously amazing stuff done visually. A perfect movie to own on Blu Ray for the high definition. The story was like Star Wars meets The Matrix. Jeff Bridges’ character disappeared shortly after the events from the original movie and over 20 years later his son (Garrett Hedlund) finds his secret cyber world. He also finds out its being run by a cyber version of his Dad. So he has to help take him down. It has some jaw dropping visuals that are worth a watch.

My Theater Pick
Your Highness

Your Highness – my favorite comedy of 2008 was Pineapple Express. It was a good mixture between laughs and action. A stoner action comedy would be a great description. So when director David Gordon Green signed on for Your Highness, I was instantly pumped. James Franco plays a brave warrior who must save the girl of his dreams (Zooey Deschanel) from the clutches of an evil sorcerer. Danny McBride is his dipshit brother who tags along. Natalie Portman is also a skilled warrior and joins them on their quest. Its set in medieval times and has a hard R rating. So expect lots of cursing and nudity. Sounds fun right? The red band trailers crack me up so I’m really looking forward to it. Plus its written by McBride and his longtime writing partner Ben Best who provide a lot of the hilarious writing for Eastbound & Down.
