Actors in a jungle… for real.
An animated sci-fi prequel.
Attack of the reflections.
A Love Triangle.
What do we have here? Well it looks like a slew of new movies for this glorious Friday.

Tropic Thunder

Tropic Thunder – Ben Stiller is a washed up action star. Jack Black is a raunchy comedy actor. Robert Downey Jr. is a serious method actor. All of them are working on a big budget war movie from a first time director that is having problems controlling them. So they are forced into the real jungle during a real war to get some more realistic scenes. Also directed by Ben Stiller.

Clone Wars

The Clone Wars – an animated look at the events that took place before Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge Of The Sith. This chronicles the ongoing battles between Anakin Skywalker & the Jedis of the Republic and Count Dooku & The droids of the Trade Federation.

Mirrors

Mirrors – critically acclaimed horror director Alex Aja brings us the story of an ex-cop (Kiefer Sutherland) and his family who are targeted by an evil force that is using the mirrors in their new home as a gateway to terrorize them.

Vicky Cristina Barcelona

Vicky Cristina Barcelona – two friends (Rebecca Hall & Scarlett Johansson) on a vacation in Spain fall for a painter (Javier Bardem) even though they are fully aware that his ex-wife (Penelope Cruz) is still in the picture. Written and Directed by Woody Allen.

In limited release is the animated 3D movie Fly Me to the Moon about flies that launch into space when they sneak aboard Apollo 11. Also Luke Wilson stars in Henry Poole Is Here about a man who abandons his family when he thinks he is dying only to discover a miracle that restores his faith in life.

Tropic Thunder is getting stellar reviews for a comedy. It has a chance to take over TDK’s 4-week reign. But don’t count out the fanboy-ism of Star Wars. Even though Clone Wars is getting piss poor reviews, there is still an audience that will die to see anything new from the anthology. Will TDK’s reign be put to an end? We’ll have to wait until Sunday to find out.
