An asshole superhero!
Looks like this one is the sole new contender for the #1 spot during 4th of July weekend.
Can it top the power of Wall-E? Only time will tell.

Hancock
Shit just got real.

Hancock – Will Smith is one of a kind. He finds out he has superhuman abilities but falls out of favor with the public. He becomes an alcoholic screw-up bum… but still has powers. So a public relations professional (Jason Bateman) presents some ideas that can get him back in the good graces of the people. Charlize Theron also stars as the woman that comes between them.

In limited release is a movie called The Wackness. Its about a pot dealer in New York City in the 90s who is trading weed for therapy sessions. It’s generating some good buzz from critics so far.

Wow, I cant believe that’s all that is coming out for the holiday. Hancock hasn’t exactly been reviewing well with the early screeners but I’m sure Will Smith will dominate the box office like usual. Wouldn’t this have been a good weekend for The Dark Knight? Could even they be scared of the box office mojo of the Fresh Prince? Very interesting.

Anyway, have a safe and happy holiday. Cook burgs and drink beers.
