An animated robot.
A secret group of assassins.
Two more summer flicks join the box office showdown.
Last week Get Smart took the #1 spot; can one of these knock it down?

Wall-E
Will kids think a robot is cute?

Wall-E – a robot specifically made as a trash compactor soon realizes there is more to life than cleaning up after humans. He falls for another robot and sets out on a journey through the galaxy to be with her. Animated film by Pixar.

Wanted
God, she’s just so badass, right? ….Right?

Wanted – James McAvoy is a regular guy at a boring job who is whisked away by Angelina Jolie, a member of a secret group of assassins. Turns out his father was a part of this group and McAvoy has similar abilities without even knowing it. With the help of Morgan Freeman and Jolie, McAvoy learns all about them.

That’s all you get this week, two big releases.
Pixar is usually domination in the box office but this is a more innovative attempt. Apparently there is not a lot of dialogue in Wall-E so we’ll see how that translates to the audience. Wanted just seems like it is trying to capitalize on that Matrix-style. Jumper tried that and failed so we’ll see if putting Jolie as the star will change anything.

Summer movies continue. This is the last of June. See you in July.
