A return to a fantasy land.
And…. Uhhhh???
THAT’S IT????!!!! ONE MOVIE?! Oh well…

Prince Caspian
Look at this motley crew.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian – The Pevensie children return to Narnia a year later in their time, but 1000 years later in Narnia’s time. An evil king has taken over the throne by passing by the rightful heir, Prince Caspian. So the children find some allies and start attempting to restore order to Narnia.

Well I enjoyed the first Narnia movie. It was pretty cool.
I didn’t think it was a GREAT movie but it was definitely cool for a fantasy story.
This one is supposed to have a darker theme similar to how the Harry Potter stories got darker and little more mature as the years went on. I’m curious to see how it plays out. I read the first book so that’s why I went to see the first movie. I never read the Prince Caspian book so I don’t have a real desire to see this one. The only reason I want to is because I saw the first movie. So it could be a surprise hit for me. We’ll see if it garners enough interest to beat summer’s first and only mega hit so far, Iron Man.

Cartoon Boobs of the 1980’s - A Retrospective

Cheetara from Thundercats

I’m a heterosexual male and I like boobs. Theres been a lot of politically-correct propaganda getting tossed around out there that might make you feel guilty or ashamed for making a statement like that. However, I feel totally justified in this feeling… its a part of who I am. Thinking back to my childhood, I remember some of my first exposure to ‘mammarous gigantus’ being in the form of cartoon breasts on various afternoon television shows. The time from 3-5 PM was a magical time. It was time to turn the lights down low, light a candle, lock the door and tune in to some hot cartoon boob action.

After a quick stroll through memory lane and a few strategically placed google image searches I have compiled some of the cartoon chesticles that hold a special place in my mind. Journey with me back through the 1980’s as we take a look at some of the cartoon T (and a little bit of A) that I hold near and dear…

Mr.Show “Its insane this guys Taint…”

I’m going to take over the reigns from Frank and post a classic Mr. Show skit that makes me lmaonaise every time I see it. Its kind of a spoof of Larry Flynt and Boogie Nights, but its so much more than that. Its got some NSFW language and some stuff you’d probably prefer people not see on your computer screen. Regardless, its just one of the thousand reasons I worship these guys ability to write comedy.

Edit: This YouTube clip has a slight delay on the mouth/voice sync. I’ll try and find a better one.

WiiWare and Lost Winds Impressions

Today, WiiWare went live on the Shop Channel. I actually didn’t know what to expect from WiiWare. I thought maybe I would have to download another channel to host WiiWare titles, but instead its only a section in the Shop Channel. I’ve been looking forward to “Lost Winds” so I gave that a shot. It downloaded rather quickly and took up around 256 blocks which is a sizable little chunk of my system memory.

“Lost Winds” is clearly inspired by “Okami” as you control a Spirit who can manipulate the wind to help little Toku get through the game’s world. The Nunchuck is used to move the main character around while the Wii Remote is used to send gusts of wind to help Toku get up to higher ledges, splash water on withered plants which then serve as a boost, and at this early point in the game to blow flames from a torch on the wall to smite a little blobby bad guy. So far, I’ve gotten past the early introduction of the game and I was having a good time playing.

What’s an animatic?

During the latest Shamoozal Radio Podcast, The General Johnny Manf asked what an animatic was. I know I often use that term a lot when I make an update, and even though Phil answered Manf’s question during the Podcast, I’ll go into it a bit more here just to help educate our readers about the animation process.

Above is the animatic we used from GFG#1, “Rated ‘M’ For Molestor”. Read more after the jump about how and why we even bother with this step in the first place.

Read this magazine: D+PAD

One of the recent discoveries I’ve made on the internet is the totally free online game magazine D+PAD. There have been some debates around the web on various message boards (including our own) about the necessity for game magazines in the digital age. Some of us would argue that there are still many benefits to getting a magazine as its nice to hold something tangible in your hands. Others make the argument that with all the video game news sites out there that a magazine is unnecessary since most of the news is readily available online long before the magazine reaches your mailbox.

D+PAD offers an interesting compromise between the two. You can download the magazine as a PDF and it includes embedded video that streams from their servers. One of the benefits of a PDF is that you get a nice layout which has the look of a traditional magazine, it can be printed (sans video, obviously) or read on screen.
