Theater Releases for July 20th
I know its Thursday but I have a little mini-vacation starting tomorrow so today you’re getting the Friday theater releases. An Adam Sandler comedy goes up against a John Travolta musical. Not to mention we still have all the other big blockbusters tearing up the theater. Lets get it on!

Nothing like seeing a movie about 2 sweaty gay men.
I Know Pronounce You Chuck And Larry – A Happy Madison production starring Adam Sandler and Kevin James as firefighters who pretend to be a married gay couple in order to get a pension plan. Jessica Biel is assigned to make sure they are a real gay couple.

Travolta is a goddamn disgrace.
Hairspray – this is a remake of a play which was based on a movie by John Waters in 1988. Its about a bunch of teenagers on a local Baltimore dance show. Starring John Travolta, Queen Latifah, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken, Amanda Bynes, among others.
In limited release is the long delayed Sunshine directed by Danny Boyle, set in the future, about a team of astronauts sent to re-ignite the dying sun.
There’s also Goya’s Ghosts about painter Francisco Goya and his muse, played by Natalie Portman who is involved in a scandal.
I know there’s mixed feelings about Adam Sandler these days. People don’t think his material is on par with his older stuff like Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore. People look at 50 First Dates and Click and just don’t get the same feelings of comedy genius. But I’m a fan. More so these days with Kevin James. The man is hilarious. Go see Chuck & Larry, I am hoping for some great laughs.
