Theater Releases for May 25th
It’s the end of May and things are in full swing for the summer blockbusters. Spider-Man 3 broke box office records and Shrek the Third did the same in the animated movie category. This week’s releases have a lot of competition with 2 of the biggest movies ever standing in the way of box office glory. Lets see which movies are going up against these behemoths.

Look at all these damn pirates!
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End – The third and supposedly final chapter in the Gore Verbinski/Jerry Bruckheimer swashbuckling adventure trilogy. Johnny Depp reprises his famous role as Captain Jack Sparrow when he is brought back from the dead (by all the characters from the last one) to meet with a bunch of other pirates in order to do battle with Davy Jones who is now under new control.

“I’m looking for people in the theater but I don’t see any.â€
Bug – the horror thriller about BUGS starring Ashley Judd! Some crazy ass war veteran sees bugs everywhere. I guess he’s supposed to be crazy but then all his weird visions of bugs come true. Uhhhh…. Ok.
Without a doubt go see Pirates 3. Even if you didn’t like Part 2, you just need to get some closure. Its getting beat up by critics but oh well. The Part 3 movies look to have failed quality wise but people are still dishing out the money. I know for a fact that most of the late night showings of Pirates 3 last night were sold out so it’s on its way to do big business like usual. Shrek and Spidey will still be getting fans that wanted to dodge the big crowds so they are going to be taking away from Pirates. Ah well, I’m waiting until after the holiday weekend to see Pirates so I wont be contributing to the box office loot of the opening weekend.
