Whore Daddy: Don’t Make Steve Mad!
Wow, I wasn’t on the Smorgas Board all day, I come home to check it out and see that someone totally sent Steve over the edge. Come on guys, support the cause, spread the love!
“You know, diggnation, this week in tech, 1up yours, all these podcasts have one thing in common… thousands and thousands of listeners.
Shamoozal Radio Podcast? Not so much, but we’re trying.
Those guys put out an episode and it’s gonna get dugg right to the front page of the Digg Podcast section. They also have corporate sponsors helping them out, but that’s neither here nor there.
Now maybe I shouldn’t care as much as I do, but usually once a day I check our digg page to see if any new people have thrown us a proverbial bone aka a “digg”.
Yesterday, I noticed we had 9 , and I thought to myself “Wow, one more and we might get put in the sidebar of ‘upcoming podcasts’”. That could lead to new people being exposed to the show, and exposed to the cartoon, and becoming part of the Shamoozal community that Phil has been trying to get off the ground.
Now, I’ve kind of let it go that we’re getting like 2-3 diggs on our blog posts (and usually 2 of them are me and phil), and I didn’t take it personally that we only had 9 diggs for the podcast when there’s like 15-20 people on here posting regularly. 9 Diggs is still 9 diggs, and hey for a small start-up podcast with little following, I’ll take what we can get with a smile and a “Thanks for listening”.
So imagine my dismay and surprise when I go to check out our diggs today and find that we now only have 8 for the podcast. Now, I know a thing or 2 about a thing or 2 when it comes to digg. I know that to remove a digg you have to deliberately log in and undigg the story/podcast/video.
So my question is, why?
Why did you do this to us?
Did we hurt your feelings when we said that Macs are garbage?
Do you have a hard-on for George Lucas’ fat-ass daughter and take offense to the idea of her deep-throating a Quizno’s sub?
Please help me to understand what it was that compelled you to log in on the digg site, go to your profile page and click ‘undigg’ next to our podcast. Because to be honest, I’m at a bit of a loss.
We’re trying to spread the word about Shamoozal kids, be it through the podcast or the nerdlog or whatever, the goal is getting Grey and Jacquo out there to the internet masses.”
After embarrassing Steve, and all joking aside, I do believe in our content. Word is starting to get out and there’s an increase in traffic. I think it’s only a matter of time before things catch on. Shamoozal is a word you won’t soon forget.
